2014 Exploring The Northwest – DAY 38 – Heading to Ashland, Oregon
The drive from Charleston to Ashland took us over several mountain ranges. This area is not very populated but forest mixed with farmland. It is very dry. Washington and northern Oregon were very green with lots of lakes, all filled to the limit. As we moved closer to California the drought was very visible. The campsite near Ashland where we are staying for the week is by Emigrant Lake. The lake is only at 10% of capacity. Our initial thoughts were that they were draining it in order to perform some maintenance. Well that was our hope, but speaking to the ranger – it is the drought.
Dinner in Ashland
All of us arrived at Emigrant Lake at about the same time. We are now getting ready to catch up, eat some great food, and see some plays.
