2014 Exploring The Northwest – DAY 14
Banff is a very quaint, upscale town in a beautiful setting. It is similar to Park City, Utah, but without the mining history. We visited a wildlife museum, the Cave & Basin National Historical Site, and walked the town. The inspiration for creating this Canadian National Park came from the USA’s creation of its first national park – Yellowstone National Park.
Then on to the Banff Gondola which afforded us a 360 degree view of the area and a great view of the Banff valley. Lunch with a view at the mountain top restaurant – delicious taco soup, tasty bison burger, and the largest bowl of delicious French fries we’ve ever encountered.
Then back to town for coffee at Starbucks and some WIFI access. Two doors down we discovered a chocolate store where they make a full menu of treats. Needless to say, we all indulged and probably gained some weight.
