Day 12 – Waterton Lakes National Park

2014 Exploring The Northwest – DAY 12

RAIN! RAIN! RAIN! The weather forecast was correct. It is cold and miserable outside. We hunted down a WIFI site this morning which gave us the first opportunity in days to check email and get out some of these blog postings. We’ve turned off our phones because of the high international rates and so are obligated to buying lots of coffee and tea while so we can use the café’s slow WIFI connection – all the visitors seem to be hanging out here – everyone with a computer on-line.

Despite the rain, we wanted to get out of camp this afternoon so we ventured out and headed to Cameron Lake.  The snow line was just a couple hundred feet above the lake.  One of the glaciers usually visible from here was in the clouds. It was unfortunate that the weather did not permit us to walk around this beautiful lake. I guess we’ll save that for our next trip.

Our wildlife viewing today was very accommodating. The deer came to our camp to give us a chance to get some ‘wild kingdom’ photos.
